We recommend Carint® sintered slide bearings for minor and specific bearing load and slide velocity up to a maximum of 2 m/s.
Designation: CARINT® Sinter Bronze
Alloy: Copper-tin (CuSn)
Density: > 5.8 kg/dm³
Expansion coefficient: 19·10 -6 1/K
Pore volume: 20 - 30%
Standard oil impregnation: Mineral oil, approx. 55 cP at 50 °C
The admissible load of a plain bearing bush depends on:
The above diagram gives a survey on the usual loading capacity as a function of the running speed under the pre-condition of normal heat dissipation. The admissible bearing pressure p results from the quotient of bearing force F and the projected bearing running surface = length b by bore diameter d of the bearing bush.
The shown load capacity curve can not be extrapolated to higher or lower speeds. In the case of very low speeds the formation of the oil film is defective and the working conditions are less favourable. For higher speeds heat dissipation and additional lubrication are required.
A particular examination is necessary:
(For loads above the curve shown in the diagram we recommend solid Carobronze® Plain Bearing Bushes or CAROPLUS® Plain Bearings).
We are pleased to offer you a special service, with help and support in choice, design and dimensioning of slide bearings made of Carobronze®, Caroplus® and Carint alloys. Please complete the questionnaire and send it together with your drawing. The more information you provide, the more detailed our reply and the recommendations that we can offer you.
